Veteran actor Roi Vinzon will be playing the role of grandfather in the upcoming GMA series “Kamao”, which focuses on the career of an aspiring boxer.
The series is led by his son Anton Vinzon, and this marks his first-ever solo lead role.
Anton shared a funny conversation where he told his dad that he’ll start calling him grandfather, being the role they play in the series. “Sabi ko kay papa, ‘pa, tatawagin na kitang lolo ah.”
The elder Vinzon, meanwhile, jokingly replied “siraulo ka.”
Anton further shared his excitement: “Pursigidong-pursigido talaga ako, determinado talaga ako to work and nakapag-training na rin ako with my dad, especially boxing. Ni-research ko talaga buo ‘yung about boxing.”
While theme is about boxing, the young actor said his role will also focus on different life challenges, family problems, and love life.
Makmak, the main character, is a bachelor who is aspiring to become a boxing champ.
Aside from the father-and-son Vinzons, other celebrities who will be playing key roles in the show are Amy Austria, Neil Ryan Sese, Wendell Ramos, Bruce Roeland, content creators Abdul and Marsy, and Katrina Halili.
Meanwhile, Katrina talked about her role which is being a mom who will do everything for her family, a role that she wants to always do as she calls it “totoong drama.”
Aside from the exciting storytelling, fans are also excited about the lady who will take the female lead role.
Anton said, “Kung sino ang maibigay sa akin ng management, why not? And kung makikitaan ng chemistry. Wala naman akong pinipili.”
He continued, “Ngayon may Carton (Carmelle Collado), may Kryston (Krystal Mejes), may Leltron (Lella Ford), sana maka-work ko po sila sa GMA.”
